CBRE’s Denver Office Joins BEN Colorado Sustainability Campaign
The Blackstone Entrepreneurs Network in Colorado (BEN Colorado) is pleased to announce that CBRE’s Denver office will participate as a Cornerstone Partner in the program's new sustainability campaign, launched in July. As part of the partnership, Senior Vice President Alex Hammerstein who leads CBRE’s Tech & Media Practice in Denver will work closely with BEN Colorado to support the continued growth of entrepreneurial businesses in Colorado.
"We are honored to add CBRE’s Denver office as a cornerstone partner to help serve our BEN Colorado network companies," said Greg Greenwood, Executive Director of BEN Colorado.
"Alex Hammerstein and his team at CBRE have provided tremendous support to BEN Colorado to date. With the successful advising of more than 70 promising high-growth companies under our belt, we believe BEN Colorado has proven our impact in the Colorado entrepreneurial ecosystem. Adding the strength of CBRE's international reach along with the firm’s tremendous Colorado resources will only add to our ability to empower these companies."
Greenwood continued, "BEN Colorado will continue to enroll additional community partners and individuals that deliver significant value to our network CEOs and companies in the Front Range to help us ensure our meaningful impact is solidified."
BEN Colorado launched its Sustainability campaign in July of 2016 and will be adding partners from around the community who are dedicated to the success of Colorado companies and willing to contribute to our state’s next big wins.
CBRE’s Denver Tech & Media Practice led by Hammerstein has been assisting high-growth technology and media companies across Denver and Boulder with their real estate needs for more than 20 years. The group emphasizes that growth-stage companies face unique challenges when it comes to real estate because of their need to think and act quickly and remain flexible for expansion and contraction.
“Real estate is one of the most important considerations for growth-stage companies, not only because it can represent a large share of a young organization’s costs but also because of its potential to shape company culture, attract top talent and maximize productivity,” said Hammerstein. “We are proud to join BEN Colorado in supporting growing Colorado companies and to offer our expertise in helping these organizations navigate the complex real estate process.”
The current network of BEN Colorado companies employs over 6,000 people and generated more than $1.4 billion in revenue last year.
BEN Colorado received seed money as a part of a three-year grant from the Blackstone Charitable Foundation's Entrepreneurship Initiative, and with the help of partners like CBRE’s Denver office, BEN has committed to be self-sustaining by the time the pilot period is completed. The effort is designed to leverage the resources of investment firm Blackstone to support entrepreneurs, create jobs, and stimulate economic growth in targeted regions across the world.
“Capital partners are an invaluable part of our network. Individuals and companies who believe in the future growth of Colorado so much that they are willing to step-up and help us deliver meaningful value,” said Hannah Loudin, Director of Operations for BEN Colorado.
“Colorado’s reputation as a mecca for startups is advancing every day,” said Hammerstein. “Of course companies are drawn to our highly educated workforce and quality of life, but what truly sets our region apart is our collaborative approach to entrepreneurialism, facilitated by community-focused organizations like BEN Colorado. Through this partnership, we at CBRE in Denver are happy to be among a top-tier network of resources promising Colorado companies can count on to help them scale and succeed."
