Dave Watson has over 25 years’ experience developing and financing new energy projects globally and in the U.S., with the past 15 years focused on renewable energy and energy efficiency. From 2008 to 2015, Dave co-founded and served as CEO of EnergySource, the first new utility scale geothermal development company to emerge in the U.S. over the past 25 years. During that time, Dave led the development and financing of the $400 million Hudson Ranch I geothermal facility in Southern California. Prior to, and during the creation of EnergySource, Dave was Senior Vice President at Hannon Armstrong, a preeminent financier of energy efficiency, renewable energy and infrastructure projects. Before Hannon Armstrong, Dave managed project development of an independent energy project in Honduras and outsourced power for industry in Brazil, utilizing in each case unique financing structures. Dave began his career in development banking as Senior Investment Officer at Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC) and as a commercial banker. Dave has a BA in Business Economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara and a Masters of International Management / MBA from Thunderbird School of Global Management.
