Jim Burke is President and member of the Board of Directors of NGL Energy Partners LP, a publicly-traded Master Limited Partnership listed on the NYSE (Symbol: NGL). NGL is engaged in the marketing, transportation and logistics of crude oil and natural gas liquids, including retail propane, water solutions and the transportation and storage of refined products. Previously, Mr. Burke was President and CEO of High Sierra Energy, LP, a privately held Master Limited Partnership within the midstream sector of the energy business which he co-founded in 2004. During the next eight years, Mr. Burke grew High Sierra Energy to over $3 billion in revenue before successfully merging with NGL in June, 2012. Prior to High Sierra Energy, Mr. Burke, along with three other entrepreneurs co-founded Petro Source Partners, where he ran six business units throughout the U.S. and Canada for the company over a 17 year span. Mr. Burke was instrumental in helping achieve over $1.0 billion in annual revenues when the company was sold during 2001.
Mr. Burke serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Comfort Bridge, a member of the Board of Directors of the Denver Hospice and a member of the Quarterly Forum. He is also a part of the University of Colorado Energy Innovation Team and a member of both the Blackstone Entrepreneur Network (B.E.N) and the B.E.N. Steering Committee.
In 2011 and 2012, Mr. Burke was featured in Denver Business Journal articles. For the last three consecutive years, Mr. Burke has been the Denver Business Journal, “Power Book- Energy Industry” winner and was the recipient of the “Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2011 Regional Award.”
