Jon Bourne has more than 20 years of diverse experience, including as general counsel of a public company and private company, growth advisor and director. 

Jon currently negotiates international and domestic technology contracts; advises about cybersecurity, privacy and multifaceted compliance matters; and assesses and manages complex risk for the technology subsidiary of a medical corporation that helps save lives and ultimately is owned by a multi-billion dollar publicly held Japanese company. In pursuing his passion to be a part of the thriving entrepreneurial community in Colorado, he also provides strategic general counsel for small to midsize companies, including with respect to crucial financing, intellectual property and international matters. Jon is former general counsel of a publicly held, midsize retailer in the natural foods industry, where he advised about public company filings and matters, negotiated complex leases necessary to achieve a critical strategic growth rate and cut costs for complicated patent litigation by approximately $400,000. Additionally, he is prior general counsel, secretary and privacy officer of a midsize, privately held outsourcing and consulting firm in the health sector, where he consummated multimillion dollar financings, investments and a merger into a multibillion dollar public company as an integral member of a cross-functional team. Jon served as a senior attorney for a privately held technology company where he was a major contributor to the design and implementation of fully integrated cloud-based contract-management software. Previously, in his capacity as an assistant attorney general, Jon was afforded unique insight into the state government procurement, contracting and investigation process. As counsel for one of the largest public pension funds in the country, Jon created a pragmatic process for analyzing multifaceted private-equity investments and devised strategies to minimize the risks and maximize the rewards of those investments. Jon began his career as an attorney for a multi-billion dollar public company in the energy sector, where he played a key role in the consummation of multi-million dollar financings that facilitated cash flow, provided critical capital and propelled rapid growth.

Jon earned a Bachelor of Journalism from the University of Missouri, widely considered the best journalism school in the country, and a Juris Doctorate from Washington University, a top law school.
