The genesis of Todd’s career was his 11 years at Nortel. Initially one of the first data network engineers, exposure to an increasingly broader business picture led him to product management, marketing, program management, sales, and finally to international business as the VP of Corporate and Business Development where he was an integral part of joint venture, acquisition and new territory expansion across four continents.
The opportunity of such a rich learning ground with a large enterprise provided the basis for moving on to OSI, a network management software and service company. He built a $5M P&L business from scratch, including sales, marketing and development in two years, in the greenfield cable market. OSI executed a successful IPO during that time.
Todd reentered the international market as VP of Marketing and Business Development with Asia Online, a pan-Asian ISP rollup effort headquartered in Hong Kong, and helped raise over $100M.
He returned to Colorado and joined Service Metrics as VP of Corporate Development, an internet performance measurement software startup consequently sold to Exodus - the world’s largest data center company at the time. After the sale, he joined Exodus as VP of Corporate Development focusing on EMEA strategic expansion.
Interxion, an acquisition target of Exodus’ in Europe, recruited Todd to Amsterdam where he served as EVP, Marketing, Product and Corporate Development. In partnership with the CEO, he ended up leading a year long restructuring and refinancing project and helped position the company to survive the brutal market downturn. It became the largest data center company in Europe and realized a successful IPO a few years later.
Since returning again to Colorado, Todd has helped companies in transition as a consultant in leadership, growth, execution and strategy, including serving as COO at an advertising production consulting company. He has also applied his broad career experience and innovative approach to filmmaking and social entrepreneurship and, as a result, augmented his experience in raising VC and institutional capital to include non-profit, angel/private and crowd-sourced projects. He successfully produced a feature film that was distributed internationally and played in theaters across the country.
He is the CEO and Founder of an internet/social media company committed to educating and expanding how people see themselves politically and how to connect with the issues and candidates that most closely match their perspective. Todd is currently active as the Duke University alumni representative to the DBS, Rocky Mountain Innosphere adviser, board member of the Denver Film Society and Dakota Arts.
His education background includes a Masters in Business Administration from Duke University and degree in Computer Science from the University of North Dakota.
