Betty Arkell is a partner at Holland & Hart with over 35 years of experience as a corporate and securities lawyer. Her clients include established and emerging growth companies as well as venture capital and other private equity funds. She has a long history of representing entrepreneurs as they start a business, guiding them through rounds of venture capital and private equity financing, providing general corporate counseling, and then leading them through a successful merger or acquisition. Before joining Holland & Hart, Betty was a partner at Kirkland & Ellis in the Venture Capital/Leveraged Buyout group. Many community and industry organizations have benefited from Betty’s generous donation of her time and expertise. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Colorado Technology Association, Rockies Venture Club, and the Holland & Hart Foundation. She is a member of the Board of Advisors of the Jabs Center for Entrepreneurship at the University of Colorado at Denver and of Startup Colorado, and she is an Advisor to Blackstone Entrepreneurs Network. Among her many accolades, last year, Betty was honored by the University of Colorado Law School with the Knous Award, Colorado Law’s highest alumni honor. Betty has also been recognized by the Denver Business Journal as one of Denver’s Outstanding Women in Business, by Law Week Colorado as a Top Woman lawyer, and by LawDragon as a Leading Dealmaker, and she is consistently selected by leading legal publications such as Chambers USA, Best Lawyers in America, and Super Lawyers.
