Betty Arkell has over 35 years of experience representing established and emerging growth companies as well as venture capital and other private equity funds. She has a long history of counseling entrepreneurs as they start a business, guiding them through rounds of seed, venture capital and private equity financings, providing general corporate advice, and then leading them through a successful merger or acquisition. Betty has been a partner at Holland & Hart and at Kirkland & Ellis in that firm’s Venture Capital/Leveraged Buyout group. Many community and industry organizations have benefited from Betty’s generous donation of her time and expertise. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Colorado Technology Association, Rockies Venture Club, and Accion. She is a member of the Board of Advisors of the Jabs Center for Entrepreneurship at the University of Colorado at Denver and Strartup Colorado, and she is an Advisor to Blackstone Entrepreneurs Network. Betty was honored by the University of Colorado Law School with the Knous Award, Colorado Law’s highest alumni honor. She also received the 2016 Open World Learning Dean Abrams Leadership Award. Betty has been recognized by the Denver Business Journal as one of Denver’s Outstanding Women in Business, by Law Week Colorado as a Top Woman Lawyer, and by LawDragon as a Leading Dealmaker. She is consistently selected by leading legal publications such as Chambers USA, Best Lawyers in America, and Super Lawyers.
