Welcoming Jason Perez of BrightVault to the BEN Signature Program
Some of the strongest business ideas begin with a problem that becomes impossible to ignore.
For the team behind Denver-based BrightVault, that problem emerged through years of working in the custom home automation and alternative energy industries. As luxury homes became increasingly sophisticated, the energy storage systems available to power them weren't keeping pace.
Most residential battery systems were designed around the needs of an average home. But high-end custom residences can have significantly different power demands, complex automation systems, and homeowners who expect the same level of reliability and control from their energy infrastructure as they do from every other system in the home.
BrightVault saw the gap and decided to build specifically for it.
Today, the Colorado company is developing intelligent, scalable energy storage systems designed specifically for the luxury residential market.
Rather than adapting an existing mass-market energy storage product to larger residences, the team approached the problem from the perspective of custom integrators: What would an energy storage system look like if it were designed from the beginning to become part of a sophisticated home's technology ecosystem?
The result is a modular system capable of providing whole-home backup while integrating directly with leading home automation technology. BrightVault can intelligently manage how stored energy is distributed throughout a home, giving homeowners greater control over what remains powered during an outage and allowing the home's existing automation to become part of its energy management strategy.
The company's modular approach also allows systems to be designed around the needs of an individual residence rather than forcing a custom home into a predetermined energy-storage configuration. BrightVault's flagship system can scale to meet the demands of residences of virtually any size, while BrightVault LITE offers another option within the company's energy storage platform.
It's an approach that reflects the market BrightVault serves: when every home is different, the infrastructure powering it needs the flexibility to be different, too.
